The Belles of Berkeley Chorus will offer Free Singing Lessons every Tuesday
A Certified Director by Sweet Adelines, International, Brenda Rahn will be taking you through the basics of singing four-part, a cappella harmony, barbershop style.
The skills you will learn can be applied to any type of singing: Correct singing posture, breathing to sing, phonation (using your breath to produce sound), articulation (correct use of vowels, dipththongs, and more), and resonation (used to produce a more pleasing sound and to help blend voices).
You will learn how to use your "inside smile" to create the resonating sound. You will learn that good facial expressions and (perhaps) some light choreography can help to create showmanship. (You will have H-O-M-E-W-O-R-K!)

Meet a terrific, friendy group of ladies who have come into previous classes and have stayed to enjoy the harmony of music and warm friendships.
There is no obligation to join the chorus although we always welcome new members. Take your new skills back to your church choir or other singing group and continue to put your skills into practice.
For those who might be interested in becoming a Sweet Adeline, remember that everyone in our chorus was a "newbee" at some point - even our director.
Participants will be invited to stay after each class session and watch our regular chorus rehearsal. When the classes end, the chorus will be using what was class time to work on Christmas music. Class members may stay to work on the Christmas music and sing with the chorus at our Christmas Show in December.
